Premium smart vending. Fully managed.
One service, done properly: an AI-powered smart vending machine placed in your space, stocked with what your people actually buy, and looked after by us from installation onward.
Shopping it feels like a store, not a vending machine.
The hardware we operate is built by Micromart, a manufacturer of smart unattended retail equipment. Here is what that means for the person standing in front of it.
-
01
Tap to unlock
A credit or debit card — or a phone — is tapped at the reader. The payment system pre-authorizes it and releases the door lock.
-
02
Take what you want
The door opens like a cooler door. Pick up one item or five, compare two things, put one back — it all works the way shelves normally do.
-
03
Close and go
Product-recognition sensors inside the cabinet identify what actually left the shelves. The door closes, the payment method is charged once for the whole trip, and a receipt is sent by text.
Items returned to the shelf before the door closes are not charged. First-time users enter a mobile number once so receipts can be delivered.
See how simple it is.
No buttons. No spirals. No waiting. The whole transaction takes about fifteen seconds, and most people work it out without being told.
That matters more than it sounds. A machine people find confusing gets used once. A machine that behaves like a shelf gets used every day.
Demonstration of the smart-store technology by Micromart, the manufacturer of the equipment we operate.
Hardware that belongs in a lobby.
-
Modern, clean design
Glass-front cabinets with a finished enclosure, sized to sit against a wall in a common area without dominating it.
-
Full product visibility
People can see everything on the shelf before they tap. Nothing is hidden behind a mechanism or a printed selection chart.
-
Intelligent checkout
Sensor-based product recognition with a single charge per visit, plus digital price tags at the shelf edge that we update remotely.
-
Configurable footprint
Ambient, refrigerated and freezer cabinets can be combined into one connected market depending on the space and what a location needs.
Fully serviced means fully serviced.
River City Markets owns and operates the machine. The property does not buy equipment, hold inventory, handle money or manage a vendor relationship day to day.
You get one point of contact — us — for anything to do with the market.

Your people help shape the shelf.
We start with a mix built around your location type and adjust it from there, using what sells and what people ask for.
Drinks
Water, sparkling water, sodas, sports drinks, energy drinks, coffee drinks and juices in full retail sizes.
Snacks
The familiar favorites people look for, alongside sweet, salty and shareable options.
Better-for-you
Lower-sugar drinks, nuts, jerky, bars and lighter snacks for locations that want them front and center.
Protein & recovery
Protein shakes, bars and recovery drinks — a common request in gyms and warehouse settings.
Requested items
Tell us what your people keep asking for. If we can source it at a workable price, we will try it on the shelf.
Local & regional
When the right Richmond or Virginia products and real demand line up, we love making room for them.
Availability varies by supplier access, pricing and how a location actually buys. We will tell you plainly what we can and cannot get.
Your screen. Your message.
Each market carries a prominent digital display. It runs product content by default, and it happens to sit exactly where people already stop and look.
Where a location wants it, we are happy to discuss giving some of that screen time back to the building — announcements, events, amenity reminders, community initiatives. We will confirm what is workable at your site rather than promising a feature list up front.
- Tenant and resident announcements
- Building events and amenity reminders
- Community and charitable initiatives
- Product promotions and seasonal specials
Spaces we serve.
The common thread is simple: people are on site for hours, and convenient options are not close enough.
Business Parks & Corporate Offices
A market gives employees, tenants and visitors a real option without leaving the building — in break rooms, lobbies and shared common areas across a campus.
Typical users: employees, tenants, visiting clients, after-hours staff.
Medical Offices & Clinics
Longer operating hours and back-to-back schedules make on-site access genuinely useful for staff, and give patients and visitors something dependable during a wait.
Typical users: clinical and administrative staff, patients, family members.
Gyms & Fitness Centers
Hydration, energy drinks, protein and better-for-you snacks placed where members finish a workout, available whenever the doors are open.
Typical users: members, trainers, staff, early and late gym hours.
Apartments & Residential Communities
A round-the-clock resident amenity for clubhouses, lobbies, fitness rooms and shared amenity space — with no staffing required from the property.
Typical users: residents, guests, leasing staff, package-room traffic.
Warehouses & Distribution Facilities
Shift work and limited nearby options are exactly the situation a market solves. Second and third shift can buy at 2am the same way first shift buys at noon.
Typical users: shift workers, drivers, supervisors, on-site contractors.
Other High-Traffic Locations
Hotels, auto dealerships, manufacturing plants, training and educational facilities, community spaces and professional-service offices — and other high-traffic locations where convenient food and beverage access adds value.
Not sure whether your space qualifies? Ask us. We will tell you honestly.
From first conversation to stocked shelf.

01

Location type, roughly how many people are on site, and where a machine might live. One email is enough to start.
-
02
We evaluate the location

-
03
We curate the first product mix
A starting assortment built around your location type and anything you already know your people want.
-
04
We install the market
Delivery, placement, setup and testing. Installation is handled by us and scheduled around your building.
-
05
We stock, monitor and maintain it
Restocking, rotation, remote monitoring and upkeep — all on us, on an ongoing basis.
-
06
Your people tell us what they want
Requests and purchasing patterns feed the next restock, so the shelf keeps getting closer to right.
What we need from you.
Short list. The machine is ours; the space is yours.
